Academic Standards Workshops

Is this the second time you have been placed on Warning?

If this is the second time you have been placed on Warning or you have completed the workshop in the past, do not do it again. On your second Warning you must schedule an appointment with an advisor in order to have your hold removed.

If your cumulative GPA is below 2.0 for the first time, you will be placed on Academic Warning and a registration hold will be placed on your account. You will need to complete the online Academic Standards Workshop to get the hold removed.

  • We will send an email to your official University email account with a link to log into the workshop, which will be administered through Canvas.
  • The workshop will explain in detail the U's Academic Standards policy and offer strategies and resources to help students overcome academic difficulties.
Please contact our office if you need any accommodations due to a disability.

Workshop Instructions and Tips

Accessing the workshop

  1. Log into Canvas with your uNID and password.
  2. Click the Courses menu at the top of the page and select the“Academic Standards Workshop” option. Follow the instructions.
If you need access to the latest version of the workshop in Canvas, please call us at 801-581-8146.

The workshop structure

The workshop is structured in two parts:

  1.  Workbook
  2. Quiz
You must finish both in order to have your hold removed

Workshop deadline

Complete the workshop as soon as possible. Waiting until it is time to register will significantly delay the time it takes to remove your hold.

Hold removal timeline

After you complete the quiz with a score of 100% and turn in your workbook, it may take up to 3-5 business days for your registration hold to be removed. You will be notified via a Canvas submission comment if you need to make any corrections and resubmit your workbook.

Allow extra time if you complete the workshop during a holiday.
